Oz burger is a new burger place in banani, through the Bata road in road eleven. They claim to be giving the genuine Aussie taste, so The Food Court ordered me to go check it out. (I was raised in Australia.)
Oz Buster
Service time: 4.5 mins
This burger (like all of Oz burger’s burgers) is chicken. As Australia specializes in beef and dairy and cows in general, this was a letdown for me.
Service there is really good. We’re not sure if it’s because it’s new, but the service is better than most fast food joints in the country.
On with the burgers (which they’ve named quite uniquely)
OzBuster:
Well when we say chicken burger, we see a burger with mayo, lettuce, maybe pepper and most importantly, a Big Fat Chicken Patty. I don’t mean to be the bad guy but why on earth is the patty so extremely thin?
Texture-wise:
they use a very nice sesame seed bun which they toast to just the right point of crunchy and soft. The supposed Chicken burger doesn’t really have the beautiful juicy fibrous taste and texture that we’ve come to know and love.
Taste-wise:
Staying in Australia, I’ve had my share of Barbys (BBQs) and chicken When barbequed has a great taste and texture to it. But as you can see in the picture, it looks a bit overcooked. They’ve added a dollop of sauce to enforce their claim of a hot spicy burger, but it wasn’t what we expected. There are many places in Dhaka where you get more of Australian BBQ than here.
Overall:
the Burger wasn’t something we’d order again, cuz of its thin patty, Disappointing sauce and their overall issuance of High hopes of a genuine Aussie taste. 3/5 on the burger scale (only the bun impressed us {and their service})
